How a stamp is earned
Clubs close, move, rename and change their door policy constantly — and most guides never notice. So every listing here shows exactly how much we know about it.
Checked
We've confirmed the venue is trading against a specific, current source — and we link to it on the listing, with the date we looked. Right now 50 listings carry this stamp.
Unchecked
The venue is listed — usually from a city guide or directory — but we haven't yet confirmed it against something current. We say so, in amber, rather than dressing it up. 126 listings are in this state, and you can help move them.
Closed
We have a source for the closure. The listing stays, dated, in Last Orders, because finding out a club has gone is still finding out. 7 so far.
What a check covers — and what it doesn't
A check confirms the venue exists, is trading, and is where we say it is. Opening hours, prices, capacity and dress codes change week to week, so treat those as indicative and check with the venue before you travel.
Why this matters
While building this directory we found major guides still listing clubs that had been closed for years — including venues shut in the February 2024 Rekom UK administration, which closed seventeen clubs at once. A directory that can't tell you whether a club is open isn't much of a directory.
Photos
We only use photos we have the right to: images sent in by venues and photographers, and freely licensed pictures, each credited where it appears. Where we have none, the artwork is generated for that venue. Got a photo you'd like credited?
Corrections
Every listing has a "Still open?" report at the bottom. Use it — it goes straight into the queue for the next check.
